Willie & Holly – A Loving Bonded Pair Seeking Their Forever Home
Available for Permanent Loan – Yorkshire & North Lincolnshire ONLY
Willie and Holly are a deeply bonded pair looking for a forever home together as companions. These two are not available individually, so please only enquire if you can offer them a home as a pair.
What Willie & Holly Need in a Home:
A companion home – they are best suited as field companions, though Willie could do light hacking only if Holly accompanies him. Holly can sometimes be ridden lightly depending on her arthritis.
A minimum of 4 acres – they need plenty of space and must live with other horses.
24/7 turnout – they have always lived out all year round, which keeps them mobile and happy. They don’t mind coming in for short periods (an hour or two) together.
Experienced handlers – both are good-natured but can be strong on the ground when stressed. They need a calm and knowledgeable home that will listen to their needs.
A kind and patient approach – Willie responds best when asked politely, not pushed or pulled. He needs a balanced, confident, and sensitive rider (max 10 stone).
More About Willie & Holly:
Willie (15.3hh, 25 years old) – A gentle soul who enjoys life at a relaxed pace. He has been out of ridden work for a couple of years and would need a slow, careful reintroduction to light hacking if required. He is willing and kind, but only with a rider who understands his need for soft, quiet communication.
Holly (15.2hh, 23 years old) – A sweet and loving mare. She has mild arthritis, so she is mainly looking for a home as a companion, though she may occasionally be ridden lightly.
Additional Info:
Both are good in traffic, easy to trim, rug, and handle in daily care.
They must stay together—they are strongly bonded and thrive in each other’s company.
Not suitable for a novice home, as they can be bargy when stressed.
They will make wonderful companions in the right home.
As a rescue and rehoming charity, we are committed to finding these two the perfect home within our rehoming area (Yorkshire & North Lincolnshire). If you can offer Willie & Holly the loving, experienced home they deserve, please get in touch!
