Indy – A Kind-Hearted Gentleman Looking for His Forever Home

Indy is a 21-year-old, sound, happy, and healthy gelding looking for a loving home where he can enjoy a relaxed, semi-retired lifestyle. We’ve known this sweet-natured boy for around nine years, and he has always been a pleasure to handle in all ways—he’s good for the vet, hoof trimming (he is barefoot), and easy to catch. He adores being pampered and thrives in a caring environment.

What Indy Needs in a Home:

• A gentle hacking home—he enjoys short, relaxed rides (up to an hour, 2-3 times a week).

• No schooling or arena work, as we want to keep him happy and sound for years to come. He will happily pop the occasional small jump, but is no longer suitable for harder work or competition.

• A sensitive, well-balanced, and lightweight rider (max 8.5 stone) with plenty of experience.

• He prefers to hack in company and can occasionally spook or spin, particularly when alone.

• An outdoor lifestyle—he prefers living out all year round but is fine with short periods of stabling at night in winter.

• A home with a group of horses, including mares, as he absolutely loves their company!

Additional Info:

• Indy could excel in in-hand or veteran showing—he’s beautifully put together with lovely paces.

• He is not suitable for a novice rider due to his occasional spookiness.

• Loves to have a job to do and could be brought back into light work easily.

• 8 years ago, he had a mild case of laminitis due to weight gain—he’s had no issues since, but he must be carefully managed to avoid becoming overweight.
